Main House

The main house, built by a ship's captain in 1917 sits on a point of land jutting out to Largo Sound in Key Largo. The house is made of Dade County Pine and rests on large wooded logs with cement corner posts. The windows were sash windows turned horizontally and aligned with each other. They were made into pocket windows so the view would be unobstructed and placed high enough so one could view the water but there would be no worries about flooding. There are no studs in the entire house and the house was built for cross ventilation from every room.

Kitchen with a View

This Florida Keys vacation rental is perfect for large groups. The historic main house with its original Dade County pine floors has four large bedrooms: two with twin beds and sinks in the room, two with king beds and private baths. There is a third full bathroom.

The large, fully-stocked kitchen is user-friendly with a large window offering a view of the grounds and vista while preparing meals. The dining table extends to seat at least 16 guests for family gatherings and other group events.

The large, breezy screened-in porch runs the length of the house and beckons guests with lots of comfortable seating, two daybeds, and offers a panoramic view of the gardens and Largo Sound.

The Cottage

The guest cottage was built in 1933 and has a small, stocked kitchen including a deep-freeze on the porch, two bedrooms with twin beds, a bathroom, laundry facilities, a living room with a trundle bed that sleeps two, and a charming screened porch. Air conditioning, cable TV, and Wi-Fi add comfort and convenience.

The property has a dock, electricity, and fresh water, and accommodates boats that draw up to four feet. The middle dock at the end of the path is the ideal place for bird and wildlife watching, and for enjoying a glass of wine as the clouds turn pink at sunset.

This unique, secluded property is perfect for boaters, divers, fishermen, and great for retreats, workshops, and film shoots. There is plenty of space to hold a wedding for up to 200 people. Renters enjoy privacy, peace, and seclusion, and have use of the entire grounds.
